About
Shiyuan Fan is a Research Assistant Professor with the Min H. Kao Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Tennessee, where she was a postdoctoral research associate from 2024 to 2025. She received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering and its automation from North China Electric Power University, Beijing, China in 2018, and she received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China in 2023. In 2018, she was a visiting student with University of Milwaukee Wisconsin, MI, USA. From November 2021 to July 2022, she was a visiting scholar with Imperial College London, London, U.K.
Her research interests include resilience-oriented power system optimization, inverter-based resource integration and control, modular multilevel converters for medium-voltage distribution, data center modeling and power supply.
