Ziwei Liu, Ph.D.

Ziwei Liu is a Research Assistant Professor with the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she received the Ph.D. degree in 2026. She received her Bachelor's degree in 2018 and earned her Master's degree in Logistics Engineering in 2021 from Shandong University in Jinan, China. Her research focuses on optimization and simulation for built environment management, logistics, and warehouse systems. Her current work, Optimizing HVAC Control for Energy Efficiency and Occupant Health and Productivity, develops a physics-based optimization framework that integrates thermal dynamics, pollutant dispersion, and HVAC energy consumption, providing practical strategies to enhance energy performance, indoor environmental quality, and occupant well-being.
